Volunteer and Employment Opportunities

Volunteer

Serve on a Committee

Taproot Theatre's Board of Directors is seeking individuals who would be interested in serving on volunteer committees to help inform and advise on various programs and initiatives. For more information about committee involvement, contact Gary Kingsbury. Committees include:

  • Fund Raising - coordinates all Board activity with donors, including appreciation calls, special events, and one-on-one calls for annual operating budget, current and future special campaign programs. Staff will provide donor information to help committee members with their projects, as well as ensure no conflicts with current donor activities.
  • Audience Development - develops and implements special events and promotions that will expand Mainstage audience. Staff will provide customer information to help committee members with their projects, as well as ensure no conflict with current marketing activities.
  • Facilities - provides real estate, building construction and building maintenance expertise to the theatre regarding current and projected facility needs.
  • Education - Coordinates all board activities with educational institutions, Taproot's Acting Studio, and other outreach efforts. Staff will provide education and outreach information to help committee members with their projects, as well as insure no conflict with current activities.
  • HR and Staff Development - Provides oversight and growth in staff support, development, roles and procedures.
  • Finance - monitor and oversee financial matters of the company, provide accountability and direction to the Treasurer, participate in the annual audit, and ensure sound financial practices within the Company.
  • Technology Committee - Monitor and oversee the computer technology and operations of the Corporation, providing support and direction for the IT staff, and bring recommendations to the Board as necessary. This includes support and maintenance, software operation and usage, licensing compliance, web site design and maintenance, servers, email and networking.
  • Gala Committee - Manage and produce the annual fundraising gala.

Help spread the word about Taproot in your neighborhood! If you love Taproot plays and find yourself telling everyone you know about them, consider joining our Citiroots volunteer program. As a participant, you will get the inside scoop on Taproot productions by sitting in on rehearsals. Plus you'll receive marketing posters and postcards to post at businesses in your neighborhood.
