The plan below assumes that we will be able to open the theatre by mid-May. Should that change, we’ll make a new plan. But for now, Taproot is moving forward with hope and courage.

We are shifting each of the remaining plays in the season forward one slot. Unfortunately, this means that The Old Man and the Old Moon, which was intended to be the final play of the season, will be cancelled. The season now looks like this:

What does this mean for you?

In the next couple of days, you will receive an email from the Box Office with your new ticket information as well as instructions on how best to make changes or donate your tickets. This process requires some very complex maneuvering on the part of the Box Office. We ask that you wait until you receive your personalized email to make any changes or donations.

At this moment, you have a ticket for each SLOT in which you purchased a ticket, rather than for each PLAY. Don’t worry, in your personalized email we are going to tell you exactly how you can donate or make changes to your tickets. Changes will be exempt from exchange fees (upgrade fees still apply when choosing a more expensive performance date/time or seat).

We are so grateful for your loyalty, the kind words and the donations many of you have sent. We continue to ask for your grace and your patience. As you can imagine, closing has created a profound financial hardship. At this time, Taproot’s Road Company has been furloughed without pay (thankfully, a few generous donors have allowed us to employ some of these actors on a part-time basis). Very soon Taproot will have cash-flow issues that will affect our ability to pay all staff and vendors.

We need your help. Please consider a financial contribution to sustain the theater and avoid lay-offs during this uncertain time.
