COVID-19 and the Status of Taproot Theatre
Updated 4/3/2020

Taproot Theatre cares about our audiences, staff, students and our communityatlarge. Due to government restrictions, school closures and our concern about public safety, we have suspended all of our programmingWe are updating this page regularly to make sure you have the latest information we have available.

Jewell Mainstage:
Babette’s Feast will not open as planned and all scheduled performances of the play are cancelled (March 18-April 25).
If you are a ticketholder for any play/performance between today and October 24, we have emailed you with instructions on what to do next. You can also read them here.

If you hold a ticket for any date between now and the end of the year and have not received an email regarding your ticket status, please check your spam/junk folder. It is possible Taproot doesn’t have your valid email on file or that you have unsubscribed to our email service. We are doing our best to reach you by phone, please consider emailing box@taproottheatre.org and providing an accurate email for your account.

Because we are working with a small staff, we ask that you please DO NOT call the Box Office regarding your tickets until you hear from us.

Acting Studio:
In response to the mandates for school closures announced by Governor Inslee and Superintendent Reykdal, we are cancelling all Taproot Acting Studio programming until May 4, 2020. We are not planning to reschedule current classes or performances.

Road Company:
Taproot’s Road Company is suspending performances until schools reopen. We are actively working to reschedule missed performances and will begin scheduling NEW performances for the Fall of 2020 beginning May 1.

Caring for Staff and Artists:

It is important that we care for Taproot staff and artists with the same intention that we care for Taproot patrons. While this closure is right for the health of our community, it creates a profound financial hardship. Very soon Taproot will have cash-flow issues that will affect our ability to pay staff and vendors.

We need your help. Please consider a financial contribution to help sustain our people and avoid lay-offs through this uncertain time.
